Workpiece material

Workpieces are made of copper, aluminum, steel, iron, aluminum alloy, titanium, graphite ash, etc. When it comes to this material, we should also understand the hardness of the workpiece. There are three common tests for workpiece hardness. Brinell hardness hardness is expressed in HB [N (kgf/mm2)] (HBS  HBW) (refer to GB/T231-1984). In production, Brinell hardness hardness method is commonly used to measure annealed, normalized and tempered steel parts, as well as cast iron, non-ferrous metals The hardness of rough or semi-finished products such as low alloy structural steel.

Rockwell hardness can be divided into four types: HRA, HRB, HRC, and HRD, with different measurement and application ranges. HRC is commonly used in production. The indentation is small and can measure the hardness of thinner and harder materials and finished parts. Vickers hardness is expressed in HV (refer to GB/T4340-1999) and measured on extremely thin specimens.

Processing route

Issues to pay attention to when selecting processing routes

(1) The selection of processing routes must first ensure that the accuracy and surface roughness of the workpiece meet the requirements, and that the processing efficiency is high.

(2) The selected processing route should be the shortest, which can reduce the time for empty cutting and also reduce the amount of programming. Choose reasonable tool entry and exit points, optimize machining paths, and improve machining efficiency.

(3) Choosing a route also takes into account process issues. During one cutting process, try to machine as many working surfaces as possible, and in one clamping process, use one tool to complete the most machining surfaces. This reduces the number of tool changes and clamping, while also optimizing the processing route and improving efficiency.

(4) Choose a reasonable cutting amount. During rough machining, the cutting amount can be appropriately increased. In semi precision and precision machining, while ensuring machining accuracy and roughness, cutting efficiency should also be taken into account.

(5) When processing the surface of the workpiece, it is necessary to complete the cutting process as much as possible in one pass. If the cutting force suddenly decreases during the cutting process, the tool will leave scratches on the surface of the workpiece, which affects the accuracy requirements of the workpiece surface. When machining circular arcs, it is necessary to choose a reasonable feed rate to prevent crawling.

(6) In the process of programming, more functions such as calling subroutines and macro programs, mirroring, etc. should be used to make the designed feed route clearer and more regular, while also reducing the amount of programming.

Generally speaking, some edited programs only serve one type of system, while other systems cannot or may cause unnecessary trouble.

VT simulation

All new post-processing needs to undergo VT simulation. Without code or post-processing that has undergone VT simulation, we cannot control what problems may occur in actual machining. This is not guaranteed for machine tools. If there is a tool tip following function, it is better to be careful. If there is not complete simulation preparation, I suggest finding professional personnel to operate.
